How to Kill Them All
In Your Favourite TV Show
20 methods to
kill a character - based on Earth: Final Conflict ![]()
1. The-Voice-From-the-Tomb: an original way to introduce the character in the series as… already dead (EFC: Ma'el)
2. Killing-IS-Fun!: bring an alien psycho to kill whoever he stumbles upon (EFC: Major McIntyre killed by Rho'ha, Boone killed by Ha'gel and Zo'or)
3. Here-Comes-Revenge: … and then kill the alien to make everything even more bloody (EFC: Rho'ha killed by the Synod, Ha'gel killed by Boone)
4. I-WANT-To-Die: this method is particularly cool, because you actually force the character to kill himself - and it's just so fun to watch in a sci-fi TV show because, unlike the characters of Latino soap operas, the unlucky character actually manages to kill himself in the same episode without these useless 100-episodes-long monologues (EFC: Lucas Johnson intentionally running into Companion Security Forces)
5. Death-Is-My-DESTINY: make a dumb ass character believe that dying is their destiny and watch them as they get blown up in a volcano (EFC: Liam Kincaid)
5.Here-I-Come-Again: a very interesting method which allows you to bring back dead characters only to kill them AGAIN (EFC: William Boone killed by Ha'gel and then brought back for 1 episode in Season 2 as Lazarus, who in turn was KILLED by Agent Sandoval, and then brought back again in Season 5. Whoa. Too complicated. How the hell did he get back his original body?).
6. Star-Wars: tie them up and launch them into space! OH YEAHHHH! (EFC: Sandoval getting rid of Lili Marquette)
7. DIE-DIE-DIE: make the show director repeat the DIE-DIE-DIE mantra and watch EVERYONE die in a volcano explosion (EFC: Liam Kincaid, the Taelons, the Jaridians) . That's my personal favourite.
8. I-KNEW-I-Shouldn't-Have-Got-Out-Of-Bed-This-Morning: - kill all the unimportant characters, at least two per episode. You know, someone just HAS to die to make the show interesting (EFC: too many to count them LOL).
9. Can't-Touch-This: make the character touch something that he or she shouldn't really touch… (EFC: Zo'or touching the energy pool).
10. You-Are-SOOO-Dead: make one main character kill the other main character (EFC: Zo'or killing T'than)
11. (Un)natural-Death: if a character is close to dying by natural death or an illness make other characters murder him to make everything more spectacular (EFC: again, Zo'or killing T'than)
12. Oops-I-Did-It-Again: make an over-sensitive character pity the dead person and bring him or her back to life… only to realize that it was a mistake and kill them again (EFC: Da'an saving Lucas Johnson, then trying to kill him, begging people to push the button that would turn off the life-support).
13. Epidemic: a mysterious illness is a perfect way to kill hundreds of characters at the same time (EFC: episode "Infection").
14. Is-That-My-Twin?: if your budget is tight, you can make the same actor play several characters at the same time - but once you get more money, it looks really lame so… yeah, just kill the doubles (EFC: Leni Parker playing Da'an and Ma'el, the characters of Siobhan Beckett and Rho'ha played by the same actress, James Pike and the ancient guy in Ma'el's ship played by the same actor).
15. Snow-White-And-The-Seven-Dwarves: create a positive character that all the show villains want to kill… and then create an army of inexperienced fools to protect him. Don't forget to make some popcorn before you watch the slaughter (EFC: Da'an and the Companion Security).
16. I-Want-MY-Yoyo!: create a mad character who kills everyone in sight if he doesn't get what he wants (EFC: Zo'or).
17. Is-That-A-Slingshot?: give the character a weapon that actually… doesn't work (EFC: Liam Kincaid being given a malfunctioning weapon by Sandoval in "First of Its Kind").
18. I-Shouldn't-Have-Installed-Windows-Software: make the computer genius of the series create a computer virus intended for his enemies and then make the virus attack his own computer… and all the computers on Earth. Then watch plane crashes, impaired medical service, people dying… and the whole planet goes BOOM because we just can't live without computers (EFC: Augur and his virus in "Wrath of Achilles").
19. Let's-Go-Alternate!: move the action of the series to an alternate universe, kill the alternate characters, and then move back to the normal world where everyone is happy and alive. At least you don't have to worry about how to bring the dead characters back (EFC: Liam and Augur visiting the alternate world in Season 2)
20. Here comes the most terrible method, The-Sexy-Babe: pay close attention to the show fans' likes and dislikes, and when you notice they like a certain character, kill the character, resurrect them and optionally make them… change their sex and/or species. Once it's done make them have sex with everyone around until the fans are so disgusted that they really wish their favourite character STAYED DEAD. (EFC: Zo'or killed and resurrected as a sexy Atavus chick; William Boone killed and resurrected to fall in love and play love scenes with the show token babe, Renee Plamer).
